Solar Farm

Cambridge JMD Australia is dedicated to building a cutting-edge renewable energy park powered by clean energy in Australia. We have taken a significant first step forward by submitting a development application to the Burdekin Council for a proposed 400MW solar farm.

The first phase of this ambitious project is anticipated to generate approximately 400 jobs, providing substantial employment opportunities for the local community. This initiative not only supports Australia’s carbon emissions targets but also brings crucial investment, job opportunities, and economic benefits to North Queensland.

“We recognise Australia’s rising demand for energy, and we are eager to assist with clean electricity from the Cambridge Solar Farm”

Solar Farm Site

Located in the heart of North Queensland, our proposed solar farm is set in the green energy precinct of Upper Haughton. Spanning over 1,200 hectares, this renewable energy park is designed to accommodate up to 1GW of energy production, making a significant contribution to sustainable energy solutions.

At Cambridge, we believe this site was chosen for its exceptional solar capacity and its convenient access to existing electricity transmission networks. This strategic location ensures efficient energy distribution and maximizes the potential of solar power. We are dedicated to advancing renewable energy solutions that contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.

Site works are expected to commence in 2025.
